Driving in the UAE can change quickly. One minute you are cruising on Sheikh Zayed Road, the next you are dealing with slowing traffic, a fast lane change or a tight parking space.

This is where ADAS, or Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, can make a real difference.

iCAUR vehicles use a range of driver-assistance technologies designed to help the driver stay aware of surrounding traffic, maintain position on the road and react to potential risks. The exact features depend on the model and trim. For example, the current UAE-specification iCAUR V27 includes Level 2 driver assistance across its range, with systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assistance and Lane Centering Control.

Rather than going through every technical abbreviation, here are the iCAUR ADAS features that are most useful in everyday driving.

iCAUR ADAS Features at a Glance

Feature What It Does Most Useful For
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Adjusts speed based on traffic ahead. Highway driving
Lane Keeping Assistance (LKA) Helps prevent unintentional lane drifting. Motorways and longer drives

iCAUR ADAS Features Explained | UAE Driver Guide

Adaptive Cruise Control Makes Highway Driving Easier

If you regularly drive between Dubai, Abu Dhabi or other emirates, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) is one of the ADAS features you are likely to use most.

You select your preferred speed and following distance. If the vehicle ahead slows down, ACC can reduce your speed. When the road opens again, the vehicle can accelerate back toward your selected speed.

It removes some of the constant accelerating and slowing that comes with longer highway journeys.

The current iCAUR V27 UAE range includes Adaptive Cruise Control as part of its Level 2 driver-assistance package.

Lane Assistance Helps on Longer Drives

iCAUR’s lane-assistance systems are designed to help when the vehicle begins moving away from its intended position.

Lane Keeping Assistance can provide steering support if you unintentionally start drifting toward a lane marking.

Lane Centering Control goes a little further by helping the vehicle remain more consistently positioned within a detected lane.

Used together with Adaptive Cruise Control, these features can make highway driving feel less demanding, particularly on longer journeys.

They are still assistance systems. You need to keep your attention on the road and remain in control of the vehicle at all times.

Blind Spot Detection Is Particularly Useful in Dubai Traffic

Changing lanes is part of almost every Dubai drive, and sometimes a vehicle can sit in an area that is difficult to see through the mirrors.

Blind Spot Detection (BSD) monitors these areas and can warn you when another vehicle is alongside you.

It is especially useful on busy multi-lane roads where traffic is constantly moving between lanes.

You should still check your mirrors and surroundings before changing lanes, but the warning gives you another useful layer of information.

Forward Collision Warning and Emergency Braking

Traffic can slow very quickly, particularly during rush hour.

Forward Collision Warning (FCW) monitors the road ahead and can alert you when it detects a potential collision risk.

If the situation becomes more serious, Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) may automatically apply braking in certain conditions to help avoid or reduce the severity of a collision.

These systems are best thought of as a backup. They are not a reason to follow traffic more closely or pay less attention.

The current iCAUR safety package includes technologies such as Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, depending on model and specification.

Rear Cross Traffic Assistance Makes Reversing Easier

Reversing out of a parking space can be difficult when SUVs, pillars or walls block your view.

Rear Cross Traffic Alert monitors for vehicles approaching from either side while you reverse.

On vehicles equipped with Rear Cross Traffic Braking, the system can also provide braking intervention when it detects a potential collision.

This can be particularly useful in:

  • Shopping mall car parks
  • Underground parking
  • Residential parking areas
  • Busy supermarket car parks

It is a simple feature, but one that can be useful almost every day.

The 540° Camera Helps You See What Is Around the SUV

For many drivers, the camera system may actually be one of the most frequently used pieces of assistance technology.

The 540° Around-View Camera provides a wider view around the vehicle, including a simulated view of the area beneath or immediately around it.

This helps when parking close to a kerb, entering a narrow garage or manoeuvring a large SUV around obstacles.

The current UAE-specification iCAUR V27 includes the 540° round-view camera across all three trims.

For a vehicle of this size, that is a feature you are likely to appreciate more often than many headline technologies.

Door Open Warning Helps After You Park

ADAS can still help after the vehicle has stopped.

Door Open Warning (DOW) can alert occupants when traffic is approaching from behind as they prepare to open a door.

It is particularly useful when parking next to an active road or in areas where motorcycles, bicycles or other vehicles may be passing close to the car.

Driver Monitoring Can Help on Longer Journeys

Long drives can become tiring, particularly after a full day or during late-night travel.

On equipped iCAUR models, a Driver Monitoring System can monitor signs associated with reduced attention or fatigue and provide a warning.

The iCAUR V27 Flagship currently includes a Driver Monitoring System with fatigue detection.

It does not replace common sense. If you feel tired, the right response is still to stop somewhere safe and take a break.

Automatic Parking Can Be More Useful Than It Sounds

Parking a large SUV in an underground garage or crowded mall is not always enjoyable.

On equipped models, Automatic Parking Assistance can identify a suitable parking space and assist with manoeuvring the vehicle into position.

The current V27 Flagship includes Automatic Parking Assistance as part of its additional convenience and driver-assistance equipment.

It is particularly useful for drivers who regularly deal with narrow parking spaces, although you still need to monitor the area around the vehicle.

What Does Level 2 ADAS Actually Mean?

The iCAUR V27 is currently offered in the UAE with Level 2 driver assistance across its three trims.

In simple terms, this means the vehicle can assist with both steering and speed under certain conditions.

For example, Adaptive Cruise Control may manage speed and distance while Lane Centering helps with positioning within the lane.

It does not mean the vehicle drives itself.

You remain responsible for:

  • Watching the road
  • Keeping control of the vehicle
  • Checking surrounding traffic
  • Braking or steering when necessary

That distinction is important. ADAS is designed to support the driver, not replace them.

Which ADAS Features Matter Most for UAE Driving?

You probably will not use every feature equally.

For regular highway driving, Adaptive Cruise Control and lane assistance are likely to make the biggest difference.

For Dubai’s busy multi-lane roads, Blind Spot Detection is particularly useful.

For everyday parking, the 540° camera and rear cross-traffic systems may be the features you notice most often.

And in unexpected situations, Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking provide an additional layer of support.

That is ultimately what good ADAS should do. It should make everyday driving easier and help you notice things you might otherwise miss.

Try the ADAS Features Before You Buy

When you test drive an iCAUR, do not just ask how many ADAS features it has.

Try the features you are actually going to use.

Ask to see how the 540° camera works. Check the blind spot warnings. Try Adaptive Cruise Control where conditions allow. Look through the lane-assistance settings and see how easy they are to adjust.

Most importantly, check the equipment included on the specific model and trim you are considering, because ADAS availability differs across the iCAUR range.

A long list of safety abbreviations looks good on paper. What matters more is whether those systems are genuinely useful in the situations you face every day.
